Temporum Board Illustration

This is the board for the new Donald X. Vaccarino/Rio Grande Games board game, Temporum!

The illustration is meant to show the progression of humanity through time.  The top is prehumanity- dinosaurs and the like.  Then it progresses down through the future.  On the board design you line up your pieces along with the time eras, so each era is supposed to be quite specific.  This was a lot of fun to do, and quite challenging to concept out.  I realize the buildings all don't really align with the landscape too well, but, it doesn't work otherwise.

I also did this piece while my husband and I moved across the country. We found out he got the job of his dreams and had to move in 3 weeks.  I worked on this piece while we flew to look at apartments, at night after many hours packing, and then while driving our stuff across the country in a tiny car with 2 kitties (well he did all the driving).  Looking at it now makes me feel tired and exhilarated at the same time.  Freelance doesn't get time off.
